Walking into my 4th year at STEM, I know there are some things I do well, and there are definitely things I struggle with and that I know I need to work on. For example, I think at the beginning of 9th grade I was already excelling at managing my time well enough to hit all my deadlines. I also think I am doing great with organizing all my work so far. On the other hand, I have noticed that I get easily distracted from my work by outside problems. I also get very discouraged easily when I encounter failures. I know I need to find a way to tune out the outside world and focus on my academics. I would say that this is probably my main weakness. It holds me back from doing my best work, so I hope to work on that weakness throughout the year. I am overall excited and nervous for the year to come.

My Transition to 10th Grade

Throughout my 9th grade year I went through many struggles, some mentioned above. I also think I addressed those things I wanted to work on, and have grown immensely since the beginning of the year, in those areas specifically. Due to that fact, I believe my 9th grade year has prepared me for my 10th grade year in many ways. First of all, to address the previous problem of being very easily distracted, now that I have struggled with it for so long, I have come to the conclusion that it is very easy to just put all of my distractions out of reach. For example, if I were working on school work and found myself on my phone, I have worked on making myself turn it off until the work is done. This skill only came from working so much for so long over the course of this year. This is just one example of how this year I have come to understand that academics are the most important thing, and that the outside world can wait, no matter how much I want to be distracted by it.

The above buttons will take you to stories of how I struggled, grew, and excelled in certain projects over the year. After reading them, it will make more sense that I am truly ready for 10th grade.
