How I Excelled
I think I excelled in Unit 1 for Chinese because there were not any times when I felt that I really struggled. I think Chinese (so far) comes easily to me and I get very good grades so I would say I excelled through this unit and I excel in the class.

In this unit, we learned common things to say when meeting someone for the first time in Chinese. These things included names, occupations and nationalities. We learned how to say "Hello, my family name is __, my given name is __, I am American, I am not Chinese, I am a student, I am not a teacher." We learned different ways to use a lot of the words we learned like saying I am American or I am not American. We also learned how to ask questions like, "Are you American?" "What is your name?" "What is your family name?" "Are you a teacher?" "Are you a student?"

For evidence, I am using the Unit 1 Final Exam. This was an exam testing out ability to use the skills we learned in unit 1. I scored a 60/60 a 100% on the test, which is why it is a good example of my excelling. Another artifact I am using is my workbook work for unit 1. This was a series of activities in a workbook to test our knowledge. I got 100% on all of my work for unit 1 in the workbook, so again this is a good example of me excelling.

As I said earlier, I think Chinese learning just comes more easily to me than it does to some others. I also pay a lot of attention in class and to my homework. I am constantly checking to make sure I am right. I believe this is why I am able to excel. I think I used persistence the most in this unit because I kept studying and checking my work persistently in order to succeed.
